The mental status soldiers tend to come home with leave them unable to relate to their friends and family with a void instead of life's purpose. More severe still are the veterans that are slowly slipping into solitary and depression because of their inability to regenerate back into a "peace time" society.
I know i was suppose to write something with this but i dont know what. Peace

The Objects of War
The "Artifacts" that are left at the Vietnam Memorial are items that very from awards to personal items that the soldiers identified with in one way or another. The Things They Carry talks about the kinds of items soldiers would carry. whether its a picture of your high school sweet heart or a letter from you mom soldiers need something that reconnects them with the "real world". Leaving these items at the memorial has turned them into "Artifacts", because they were present during crucial moment in history. I think its all very interesting, the things people cherish when they only have one pocket to fill.

The Truth Hurts
Yes, illegal immigrants are taking jobs from Americans but when your are talking about farm workers I don't thnk that is the case. I would like to see an accurate number of where and how many legal American farm laborers there are. I think that American's as a majority don't identify with that as a potential job anymore. People have begun thinking they are better then the farm workers, unconcouse as that thought may be. you maybe shaking your head reading this but think very honestly about things that you have witnessed in your life and say that none of this is true.

SB 1070
Well reading Arizona's Senate Bill was one of the most confusing tasks i have completed lately. No wonder politicians get away with so much the gar-gin they use mixed with the format of that bill was too much. The purpose of this bill is, " To make attrition through the enforcement the public policy of all state and local government agencies in Arizona". I think this means they want to crack down on the number of people in Arizona buy exporting aliens, illegal or not. When people take on immigration it is a pretty easy argument to them. You can talk about how illegal immigrants use a lot of hospital funding to be treated because they have no health insurance, or you could also argue that people can immigrate just use all the proper channels. I would agree with both of these positions but what i don't agree with is the attitude that comes with both these positions. People tend to say because of the amount of taxes "wasted" on helping the under privileged who risk it all to live in America, we should stop treating immigrants and start deporting them. I say that if Emergency Medicine is NEEDED it should be provided, however if their situation is NOT an emergency, if they are there in pursuit of drugs, or anything else that would constitute a falsely required visit. Then refuse medical attention tell them to buy their cough medicine like every other American would, at Rite Aid. To stop all medical services toward illegal immigrants would result in a huge number of deaths that otherwise would have been prevented. For that reason i say it would be unconscionable to stop all health care services for the uninsured. I think that certain members of Arizona's cabinet just don't want to wait for medical attension anymore. So by using "attrition" decrease the number of people who reside in that state. They make life just a little more convenient for themselves.

Stimulate then eliminate
The Blame for our current financial crises can go to many different people. Out of everyone the banks were the most reckless. The banks were the ones dealing in Sub prime mortgages and enticing everyone to spend to the point of absurdity. Banks conditioned the minds of everyone in society making it seem “normal” to be overextended in debt. This led to the highest debt to income ratio since the great depression. We assisted in creating the largest national deficit the world has ever seen. It has become an inaccurate statement to blame any 1 failed system or individual. Even though there are a couple individuals who caused a huge amount of suffering in this country.
Everyone needs to stop thinking about punishing those wicked few and start making the changes that have to occur in order for our Nation to survive.
That seems a little dramatic only because it hasn’t affected everyone, yet. If our nation continues spiraling down this hate filled path there will be nothing left to save. Since there are so many issues that led up to the financial meltdown, there is a lot of room for improvement in many areas of our daily lives. The first thing I would suggest to get this country back on track is directed toward everyone. Everyone right now needs to evaluate their debt to income ratio, and realize it isn’t “normal” to be in debt. So stop the reckless spending and pay off your credit cards. Reconnect with the thought of “needs” over “wants”, be willing to pay more for healthier food for you children instead of wasting money on bullshit social symbols. If we don’t overextend ourselves financially the greatest stress that everyone has been living with will be eliminated.
While you start to evolve your spending habits, begin to buy some American union made products. By purchasing a couple U.S.A. made products we will begin to see incredible things happen. Local business will expand to larger sizes while staying true to their union made products. Since we are slowly becoming less dependent on those conglomerates they will be forced to overhaul their companies because of the lack of consumer support, or they will eventually fail and go out of business.
In being a more deliberate consumer everyone would be more actively engaged in what they do, living this way would ingrain a sense of discipline that I feel is sorely lacking in our nation. I don’t think any one-generation is to blame for this. So together changes need to be made. Matthew Brady in “The United States Needs to Nationize Now” brings up a good point when he states, “The government needs to step in with intelligent public policy that will put our economy back on track” (198). Regulations need to strictly govern banks activities. All those billions of dollars that we used to help banks in their time of need should start getting paid back. If the banks are approached for an installment and none can be provided, the individual of that company who received bonuses out of TARP funds should be billed directly! That is my economic stimulus package, but we also need to make sure this never happens again.
Money only has value because we say it has value. Ralph Gomory stated in his testimony before science and technology, ”emphasizing profits above everything else can be bad for the Nation” (180). For individuals that are completely absorbed by the current system this may be hard to fathom. The solution to future financial crises is the absolvtion of the monetary system. As we continue to develop, we have to realize a system set on the idea of “money” will always fail. Constantly wanting things we cant afford, working in industries that have no real purpose. Wanting to be better then other people by separating yourself with your wealth. The happiest people I have ever encountered had nothing, but we think we “need” everything. Most all stresses physically manifested or mental can be rooted back in some way or another to money. I wonder what would happen if we no longer had money in our society? I think we would see an epidemic of health and a new sense of balance and peace worldwide. This shift can’t happen overnight, but when it comes embrace it don’t cling to greed.

Living in the now
Life sometimes can be a constant state of reflection, so when our economy is crumbling, and the rich continue to build their wealth on other peoples misery. Life can sometimes appear somewhat bleak. By constantly wishing you had a better life you dim the importance of your current one. Another way to injure your quality of life is to live only for money. By making your life's purpose the acquisition of material things you cheapen what is awesome already. Living in the now! Be present during your day don't give in to your conditioned mind telling you to go to work, sleep, eat, and be miserable. This is life there is nothing to be miserable about. If you are reading this you are in an outstanding position to stop thinking about what you "want" and focus on what you have. don't live in a constant state of "want", live in a constant state of awareness. Wake up and enjoy what is.

what grinds my gears!
You know what really grinds my gears? When all these companies that are based in U.S. outsource their labor. This results in less jobs for middle class Americans. Which increases the number of people on unemployment. All for a product that cost half that of something made in America, and falls apart twice as fast. Support America, buy American made organic products. The cost is more but the quality is amazing and 100% worth it. Smash!

The Moral Struggle!
As if shopping wasn't enough of a hassle I have been educated recently on Fair Trade, Free Trade, and everything between. I feel like I have definitely heard a lot of this information before but for some reason it didn't impact me like it did this time. I have completely altered my shopping habits, spending the last week bookmarking all the eco friendly, U.S. Union made clothes websites. The Selection Isn't quite so vast, but the quality is far superior and if your looking for organically made clothes as well you drastically decrease the amount of chemicals your skin is exposed to every day. anything that can make me a healthier being I am in full support of. While I have altered my shopping habits my duty as an informed person is not done. I will consciously teach others about the positives and negatives that correspond with free trade. I will remind them that they DO have a choice about where they purchase their merchandise. This is still a consumer based economy, so how bout we start supporting our own country and the smaller companies that have stayed true to the consumers. Not trading quality for quantity, or taking advantage of impoverished nations for cheap labor. Small, Local business is how this countries infrastructure was suppose to flourish but somewhere along the line we have all lost sight of that and now we just see dollar signs (who's the cheapest). It's not too late we can take back this country and our humanity. Shop Local, Shop Fair Trade, Shop America!

ENGL 1A
My name is Nick, I was a SSG (Staff Sergeant) in the United States Army and served for 6 yrs. I just recently ended my contract with the Army, I was really looking forward to continuing my education and enjoying the Freedoms that i believed i had defended. So you can imagine my surprise when i began to realize more and more that a lot of those inherent freedoms no longer existed. The more i learned, the more i realized my life on this planet had landed on a very critical age. This "critical age" I speak of is also a depressing one, so many facets of our once everyday life coming to a head whether its Oil, the Monetary system, or our disgusting addiction to the technological vices. I couldn't stop wasting my energy stressing about what is and what i needed to do, instead of what i was doing. But now through several practices that i have adopted i completely turned my life around by focusing a lot of those wasted energies inward. I am very aware of what our current global issues are and have set my life in motion to directly affect those issues. The difference is I am at peace with my decisions and the time it will take to make a serious impact. instead of obsessing with the future i now live completely in the present, with this comes a certain clarity and an overwhelming joy to be apart of the most important age of our Earth.
